Queen City Ex
The Queen City Ex is a must-see for visitors this summer! No one will leave disappointed from this annual event, as the Ex has several options available for ride enthusiasts, foodies and music-lovers!
Our favourite fair rides will be there, including Polar Express, Crazy Mouse Coaster and of course the iconic Ferris wheel.
Classic food options such as popcorn, cotton candy and candy apples will make their appearance… but we love the Ex for its experimental snack options. This year, deep-fried chicken feet, Canadian pickle bacon balls, hickory smoked cordon blue stuffed burger, cookies ‘n’ cream mini donuts and Jurassic BLT club are some to look out for.
To add to all the excitement, performances by Gord Bamford, July Talk, I Mother Earth & The Watchmen, Ruth B and Brett Kissel will happen throughout the week.
Our Youth Ambassador Mischa made her way over to the Ex on opening day! Check it out….

Summer is all about spending time outdoors – so why not get creative? Most people only experience Wascana Lake by running or walking around it, but the Queen City SUP shop wants EVERYONE to give stand-up paddle boarding a try!
Paddle boarding not only allows you to gain a new perspective on the lake, but it’s also a great way to get active. Beginner’s lessons are offered at QC SUP, as well as paddle progression classes, racing workshops, paddle board yoga and full moon paddles!
Our Regina Youth Ambassador Mischa paddled her way across Wascana Lake! Check-out her experience…
“Thank you to Queen City Sup Boarding for all the fun sup boarding at Wascana! #seeyqr“
So many fun activities took place in the Queen City this year for Canada Day! It was amazing to see the huge turnout and the city overflowing with red and white!
A couple key spots for events were Victoria Park where people took part in the Farmer’s Market, face painting, cook-off challenge, and music from the Dead South; Wascana Park where the crowd enjoyed the living flag ceremony, dance performances, boat building, strongman competition, music and fireworks; Government House where a variety of musicians performed; and Mosaic Stadium for the Rider game.
Our Youth Ambassador Mischa attended Canada Day and captured some great shots! She was at Victoria Park and made sure to grab a picture in front of the Canada 150 sign, then she made her way over to Wascana Park to check out everything happening there and of course to watch the fireworks.
If you aren’t already following Mischa on Instagram toss her a follow to keep up with all the excitement happening in Regina throughout the summer!
