Previously taking over the Queen City in 2012, BreakOut West (a four-day event featuring a four day music conference, multi-genre festival and the Western Canadian Music Industry Awards Brunch and Western Canadian Music Awards Gala) is set to return to Regina’s mighty shores October 13 – 16, 2016.

Hosted by the Western Canadian Music Alliance – an organization created by the Music Industry Associations of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon Territory – to promote and celebrate Western Canadian music; BreakOut West won’t just shine the national spotlight on our city and province, it will act as a catalyst for many local artists eager to build and establish on a career in the industry.

A stepping stone for worldwide Saskatchewan success stories such as The Sheepdogs, BreakOut West provides artists the unique ability to showcase in front of thousands while also networking with hundreds of music industry delegates. The perfect opportunity for our City and our musicians to prove yet again why Regina continues to be regarded as a welcoming and vibrant hub for arts and culture.

In anticipation of the return of BreakOut West, we will be sharing a weekly guide to help you navigate through all of the many opportunities that this exciting event plans to offer.  We hope you enjoy the ride and can’t wait to celebrate our vibrant Western Canadian music industry with you all!

As many artists already know, knowledge is one of the most essential tools you can possess while you begin to work towards (or continue to build upon) a successful and promising career in the music industry. Introducing education and the opportunity to network with talent from across the globe has also been a very important aspect of BreakOut West – one that has (not only) benefitted many musicians right  here in Saskatchewan but may just be the spark that helps ignite the passion inside future Western Canadian Music Award winners!

Attendees of the conference can access over 65 talent buyers, label reps, managers, agents, music supervisors, social media and marketing gurus, music industry association reps plus financial and funding experts. Member of the industry themselves will also participate in discussions about the state of the industry, festival planning, and B2B meetings.

Prior to releasing the full schedule, BreakOut West has recently released a sneak peek at some of the amazing opportunities that attendees can expect during this year’s conference.

Through the years, this conference has featured 83 speakers, 29 international delegates, 26 conference sessions, 576 industry to industry icebreaking meetings,100 round table networking participants, 318 one-on-one meetings and countless networking opportunities within the industry.

As the nation’s eyes (and ears) collectively turn towards the ‘Land of Living Skies’ this October, make sure you take care of business and don’t miss out on these truly unique opportunities.
