What is Special Events Regina?
Special Events Regina is working to position Regina, Saskatchewan as a premier destination for events of all kinds. Partnerships with the municipal and provincial government as well as tourism industry partners will work together to enhance existing events and attract new events that will maximize the economic and strategic benefits to our community.
The objectives of Special Events Regina are:
- identify, attract and nurture events which will provide significant economic and/or community benefits to Regina;
- support community events that align with the strategic plan for the City
- act as a liaison for those who fund and sponsor events and the event organizers
- create a balanced annual calendar of major events that maximizes the Regina infrastructure, resources and capacity to continue to host world class events
- encourage events to build legacies for infrastructure and longevity of successful events so Regina can continue to be a premier destination for events
Special Events Regina is highly focused on attracting events to the City of Regina that will produce successful events which fit into the community vision of being Canada’s most vibrant, inclusive, attractive, sustainable community where people live in Harmony and thrive in opportunity. Events that fall into the categories of Sport, Culture, Entertainment, and Festivals will be the four main foci of Special Events Regina.
