Skate Canada returns to Regina after 30 years
The 2017 Skate Canada International will be hitting the ice in Regina Oct. 26 to 29. After more than 30 years, the event will be returning to the Brandt Centre at Evraz Place.
Skate Canada said this event is a critical stop on the road to PyeongChang. You can anticipate some great performances as the skaters work to perfect their programs leading up to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

Regina hosts first ever CFL Week
If you’re a huge Canadian Football League (CFL) fan, no matter what team you cheer for, here is an event for you! The first ever CFL Week is being hosted in Regina this March and will include several major fan engagement events, multi-day media access opportunities to more than 50 prominent CFL players, a Hall of Fame and player Gala Dinner, a coaches media junket, and a new passing showcase tournament featuring several of Canada’s top university football programs.
This truly is a packed week of activity that will culminate with the CFL’s National Combine where rising stars come for the most social and accessible Combine in CFL history.

Waskimo Winter Festival Returns
After a 16-year hiatus, Waskimo Winter Festival appears to be returning to Regina. The one-day event will take place on Feb. 20, Family Day, with activities happening inside and outside of the Conexus Arts Centre.
There will be some activities around the lake such as hole-ympics, cross-country skiing, horse-driven sleigh rides, fat bikes, shinny hockey, and skating. Inside the Conexus Arts Centre will be a children’s stage, entertainment, plus dog shows! And who doesn’t like dogs?
Even the premier of Saskatchewan, Brad Wall, is excited to see this winter-time events come back.
“This fun-filled celebration will highlight the many sport and cultural activities that make Saskatchewan winters exciting and welcoming to all,” Wall said in a news release.
