Musical Ride Marches into Regina

In celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary, the RCMP Musical Ride will complete a cross-country tour and Regina will be first on the list!

On May 23 and 24, a full troop of 32 riders and their horses from the Musical Ride will perform at the Brandt Centre.  This is truly something not to miss with intricate figures and drills choreographed to music.

Delve head first into the tradition and heritage of the RCMP during these amazing shows; the money raised will go towards the RCMP Heritage Centre, a non-profit organization.

While you’re in Regina, be sure to check out the RCMP Heritage Centre. In recognition of Canada’s 150th Anniversary, the RCMP Heritage Centre presents their Feature exhibition for 2017 – Building Better Partnerships: The RCMP and Canada’s First Peoples.  The exhibition explores the history of First Nations peoples and the Mounted Police. Included is the early relationship of NWMP Commissioner Macleod and Blackfoot Chief Crowfoot, the key role of Métis guides and scouts, the vital partnership with Inuit Special Constables in Canada’s North and First Nations as Regular Members today.

There are lots of new things to anticipate this year, including several new exhibits at the RCMP Heritage Centre—the museum that brings to life the oldest and most iconic stories of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police! First, put yourself in the high browns of an RCMP cadet with the use of HoloLens mixed-reality glasses. Get your dorm room ready for inspection under the guidance and watchful eye of the Sergeant Major! Then, learn what it takes to drive a police car in their new Driving Simulator.

Welcome the Next Regina Ambassador

Another Regina Ambassador has joined the roster! Enid Huang has a passion for photography. She photographs Regina with a unique perspective to showcase how special our city is. She says she does this by going out to undiscovered coffee shops, hidden spots for sunsets, exploring undiscovered architectures, attending local events and much more!

“Overall, Regina has truly stolen a part of my heart, by pushing me to explore the hidden gems of the city. Regina may seem like a typical, ‘flat’ city, but the thing about this city is that there is so much more to it, if you just step outside and get lost. That’s the thing I love about this city, it pushes me to be adventurous,” Huang said.

Follow her on Instagram @enidhuang, Snapchat @enidhuang, and Facebook and VSCO.

You can also check out what some of our other Ambassadors have been up to at SeeYQR.ca and get some ideas on what’s not to miss in the city.

Regina's Unique Quality of Life

The folks at Economic Development Regina like to talk about the Regina Advantage. So what exactly do they mean by that?

Well, it can mean a financial advantage, either through higher incomes or lower cost of living, including taxes, housing, and other services.

Let’s see how Regina stacks up the cost side first.
