Roller Derby Regina
Roller Derby is a full-contact sport played between two teams in a “bout.”
A “bout” consists of two 30 minute periods where two teams skate in jams that can last up to 2min. There are as many jams as time will allow. The objective of the jam is to score as many points as possible.
Points are scored by only the jammer from each team. The jammers attempt to infiltrate and pass through the “pack”, made up of 1 pivot and 3 blockers of each team. The jammer gets 1 point for every opposing team member she passes. Check out these exciting ‘bouts’ throughout Regina.
Regina is home to the Saskatchewan Roughriders who became charter members of the Canadian Football league in 1958.
