10 Pet-Friendly Places to Hang out in Regina
It’s summer in the Queen City. That means hanging with friends, getting outside and enjoying all the events and activities the city has to offer in its warmest season.
Sometimes it’s hard to leave Fido at home, so here are 10 places in Regina you can bring your pet to!
1. Malty National and 33 ⅓ Coffee Roasters
Half craft brewery and half coffee shop on 15th Avenue, Malty National and 33⅓ Coffee Roasters blends the two beverages with pets, kids and boardgames. Because they don’t serve any food, pets are welcome to hang out inside with their owners.
2. O’Hanlon’s Irish Pub Patio
The patio at O’Hanlon’s Irish Pub welcomes pups during the summer months. On particularly hot days, they have doggie-bowls set aside so they can have a cool drink too. They also have treats available for your pet.
3. Dessart Sweets
Dessart Sweets owner Shelley Patterson is also a dog-lover and owner. Pups aren’t allowed inside the store in accordance with health regulations (like all restaurants in Saskatchewan) but they are pet-friendly and serve doggie cones and sundaes at their ice cream window outside.
4. Rebellion Brewing Co (patio)
Located in the Warehouse District in Regina, Rebellion Brewing is well known for their innovative lentil-made beer as well as their outdoor patio with Saskatchewan-inspired monopoly on the picnic tables. They’re also pet friendly with dogs welcome during their April to September patio season.
5. Stone’s Throw Coffee Collective
This cozy, fair-trade coffee shop (that also serves beer) has a welcoming pet-friendly patio during the summer months. They also offer your pooch dog biscuits and a water dish to help keep cool in the shade while you enjoy your cup of joe.
6. Excalipurr Cat Cafe
Excalipurr Cat Cafe is the perfect place to go for those who don’t own a pet. Part cafe and restaurant and part cat salon, customers are welcome to take their beverages into the cat salon to hang with the kitties (cats are kept separate from any food service and prep areas for health and safety). The best part is the cafe has partnered with Regina Cat Rescue and all the kittens are up for adoption.
7. City of Regina Dog Parks
The best place to bring fido is to one of the three off-leash dog parks in Regina. Both the Cathy Lauritsen Memorial (partially fenced) and Ross Industrial (fully fenced) dog parks are the best place to let your pup run around and socialize with dozens of other dogs. As well as the newest opening of Mount Pleasant Dog Park, located at 750 North Winnipeg Street.
8. Hotels
Regina hotels are very pet-friendly. In fact, there are 22 hotels in the city that are happy to have you spend the night with your pup – so the whole family can stay. Stay at the iconic Hotel Saskatchewan with your pup, share a warm cookie at the DoubleTree by Hilton with them, or check out the views over the city from the Delta Hotels by Marriott Regina.
9. Orange Izakaya Fusion Cafe & Bar
One of the best places for sushi in the city, the patio at Orange Izakaya Fusion Cafe and Bar is also pet friendly. So bring your dog to hang with you while you catch up with a few friends.
10. Wascana Park
Wascana Park is one of the most popular locations in the city for locals and visitors to enjoy. It’s also a great place to bring your pet and spend the afternoon (on-leash of course!). The walking and biking trails are perfect to take your pup for a run along the lake or pack a blanket and have a picnic on the lawn in front of the legislature.
