Mar 15, 2023/Blog

Come see what a Saturday in YQR looks like with me! There’s a little sweating, some food and of course… shopping!

Des’ Fave Spots!

  • 1. Wheelhouse Cycle Club
You might not know but I’m an athlete at heart and always love to get in a good sweat to start the weekends. I like to get a sweat in on the weekends at Wheelhouse Cycle Club, Regina’s very own indoor cycling boutique. You can expect a 45 min jam packed sweat session that will make you sing, cheer and maybe even forget that you’re working out!

  • 2. Greenspot Cafe
An easy way to describe it is, “that downtown restaurant that is known as Regina’s only 100-per-cent vegetarian eatery.” While that is the case, it only tells part of the story. Green Spot is not only vegetarian but their cinnamon buns are ooey gooey and freshly baked on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You’re gonna want to be the first in line or you’ll miss the opportunity to snag one.

  • 3. Centennial Market Antique Warehouse
As Saskatchewan’s largest indoor market, and in the heart of the Warehouse district, you’re almost guaranteed to find something you love. From Jean quilts, handmade leather bags to old school Roughrider jerseys, and more, Centennial market has you covered. Most importantly, you’re there to shop until ya drop, so go a little wild, you’re supporting local!

  • 4. Victoria’s Tavern Downtown
This vintage restaurant Founded in 2014, Victoria’s Tavern was first housed in an old bank building built in 1923 complete with original bank vault and classic wooden interior. If you’re looking for good eats and a cool interior, you’ve got to try Victoria’s Tavern. No matter the day, Chicken and waffles is never a bad choice and there’s a new daily grilled cheese that is guaranteed to have your mouth watering!

In the spirit of reconciliation

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is Treaty 4 territory and the traditional territory of the Anihšinābēk, Nêhiyawak, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakota peoples, and the original home of the Métis/Michif Nation. We recognize that both Indigenous and Métis people are the spiritual and cultural keepers of their traditional lands and still to this day, continue to practice their values, languages, beliefs and knowledge.
