As winter continues to pass by, it becomes harder to find ways to enjoy your time safely while following provincial guidelines. With this in mind, we want to offer a suggestion! Give yourself a mini-break and try a staycation at a local RHA hotel. Our member hotels are here to make your staycation safe, easy, and memorable. The thought of venturing into a hotel during a pandemic may seem daunting, but with a few precautionary steps you will be checking-in with confidence.

‘Standard’ Operating Procedure

Like all businesses operating during a pandemic, our member hotels are following Saskatchewan Public Health Orders and the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan. This means you can expect all staff and guests to wear masks, plexiglass barriers in place at check-in, and social distancing encouraged in all public areas. Although each hotel may differ on exactly how they execute the provincial guidelines, here are few safety enhancements you may come across:

  • More frequent cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch areas
  • Disinfecting of key cards
  • Hand sanitizing stations in public spaces
  • Enhanced social distancing measures in public spaces
  • Contactless check-out
  • Reduced elevator occupancy
  • ‘Grab and go’ breakfast and dining options
  • Reduced pool occupancy and mandatory pre-booking
  • Contactless room service

The Extra Mile

Our member hotels have always had rigorous standards for cleaning and safety, and were early adopters of enhanced health and safety protocols during the pandemic. Once you have narrowed down your preferred hotels, consider researching the new policies and procedures they have put in place. This information can often be found on a hotel’s website, or if you have specific questions, we encourage you to give the hotel a call directly to ensure answers to any of your questions or concerns.

Always Be Safe

Your health, safety and comfort are priorities. We highly recommend following all Public Health Orders and guidance as provided by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
