
Greek International Film Festival Tour of Canada – Smyrna My Beloved
Regina is one of nine Canadian host cities of The Greek International Film Festival Tour of Canada (GIFFT) where we will be screening Greek feature films, documentaries and short films on Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and 2.

MANTO (Short film – Drama)
Two centuries apart, two young and dynamic women face the social adversities of their times. Drawing strength from their common family tree, they try to free themselves from their shackles. In this quest the only ally is the hero they hide inside them. The ephemeral becomes eternal through the feat of individual transcendence against the backdrop of Mykonos, then and now. Two women unknown to each other will manage to become a heroine of today.

SMYRNA MY BELOVED
(Feature film – Drama)
The historical incidents and facts that proceeded and occurred during the occupation of Smyrna in 1922 by the Turkish Army, including the massacre of the local Greek and Armenian population, are recounted through the lives of the Baltatzis family.
