Launch of African Canadian Black History Month at the MacKenzie Art Gallery

Join in the Shumiatcher Theatre us as we celebrate the launch of African Canadian Black History Month with the Saskatchewan African Canadian Heritage Museum Inc., including greetings from community representatives and highlighting a children’s book, Bedtime for Baby Alfie, by Sharon-Ann Brown.

Following this, we invite you to a film screening of The Road Taken. This screening takes a nostalgic ride through history to present the experiences of Black sleeping-car porters who worked on Canada’s railways from the early 1900s through the 1960s.
