Join us for a guided introduction to a new Digital Exhibition!
Echoes from the Future: Speculative Creatures & Post-Human Botanicals is an imaginative virtual world where art, technology, and environmental awareness converge.
This immersive experience invites visitors to explore an alternative future inhabited by hybrid lifeforms, both online and through an in-person Virtual Reality (VR) component available at the Gallery.
Digital Exhibition Consultants Cat Bluemke and Jonathan Carroll will lead the public through the virtual reality exhibition Echoes from the Future: Speculative Creatures & Post-Human Botanicals curated by Tina Sauerlaender.
Beginning with an introduction to the exhibit’s emergence from the MacKenzie Art Gallery’s current Digital Strategy program, Cat and Jonathan will present on the development process of digital exhibitions and the future of of digital art at the MacKenzie Art Gallery.
Following the talk, visitors will have the opportunity to accompany them to the second floor in the orientation space, where they will provide a live demonstration of how to use the VR headsets and engage with the exhibit.
Event location: Meeting Rooms one and two, the installation can be found in the Orientation Gallery.
Echoes from the Future is part of a series of digital exhibitions created through the MacKenzie Art Gallery’s Digital Exhibitions Toolkit and Art Installation Launcher (DETAIL)—a ongoing resource championing the development of art exhibitions for digital platforms.
