Orange Shirt Day Family Event
Learn about the meaning of Orange Shirt Day and the impacts of Residential Schools in Canada at the RCMP Heritage Centre on September 25 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The Orange Shirt Day Family Event will feature FREE family and child-appropriate learning activities, including:
– Hourly animated film screenings of Shin-Chi’s Canoe
– Self-guided story walk of “Phyllis’s Orange Shirt” by Phyllis Webstad sponsored by United Way
– Explore the timeline and locations of Residential Schools in Canada, with Knowledge Keeper Matthew Spencer, on the giant Indigenous Peoples Atlas Map
– Create your own Orange Shirt Day button to wear on September 30
