Supper in the Orchard Featuring Chef CJ Katz

At Over the Hill Orchards and Winery, we’re delighted to offer our “Supper in the Orchard” series, in collaboration with local chefs, from May 3th through October 13th, 2024.

These culinary evenings feature a multi-course meal crafted predominantly from local and orchard-fresh ingredients. The evening kicks off on the outdoor patio, weather permitting, offering guests a chance to enjoy a drink with a view, followed by a cozy indoor setting by large picture windows for the supper.

The event includes a brief introduction to the orchard’s history by owners, Dean and Sylvia Kreutzer, and a presentation of the evening’s culinary talents. Guests are also treated to a 30-minute orchard tour between courses (weather permitting). The supper experience starts at 6:30 p.m. and concludes around 9 p.m.

Featured Chef CJ Katz has dedicated over 30 years to exploring the narrative of food through various mediums, including cookbooks, her 18-season TV show “Wheatland Café,” and extensive food journalism. She owns Momentum Cafe in Regina, a beloved spot renowned for its warm service, exceptional lattes, and inventive cuisine, nestled within Innovation Place’s sunny atrium. During the COVID-19 pandemic, CJ authored her second cookbook, “ONE LOAF AT A TIME/ONE BOWL AT A TIME,” which garnered acclaim as a Canadian bestseller and received 11 international awards. Her first cookbook, “TASTE: Seasonal Dishes from a Prairie Table,” also achieved bestseller status in Canada, won the World Gourmand Cookbook Award for Best First Cookbook, and was a finalist in the Taste Canada Cookbooks Awards in 2013. Additionally, CJ is an experienced food and BBQ judge, a contributor to national publications, and served as a long-time consultant for Air Canada’s enRoute Magazine.
