Supper in the Orchard featuring Chef Gayla Gilbertson & Chef Josh Miller

At Over the Hill Orchards and Winery, we’re delighted to offer our “Supper in the Orchard” series, in collaboration with local chefs, from May 3th through October 13th, 2024.

These culinary evenings feature a multi-course meal crafted predominantly from local and orchard-fresh ingredients. The evening kicks off on the outdoor patio, weather permitting, offering guests a chance to enjoy a drink with a view, followed by a cozy indoor setting by large picture windows for the supper.

The event includes a brief introduction to the orchard’s history by owners, Dean and Sylvia Kreutzer, and a presentation of the evening’s culinary talents. Guests are also treated to a 30-minute orchard tour between courses (weather permitting). The supper experience starts at 6:30 p.m. and concludes around 9 p.m.


Featured Chefs: Chef Gayla Gilbertson & Chef Josh Miller 

Josh Miller, known as the Bearded Prairie Chef, was a top 3 finalist on MasterChef Canada Season 6. I’ve loves everything about food and the Prairies! The way it brings people together as family around a table to share stories and laughs… the way you keep learning new things about it… the way it can bring a flood of memories back to you as you eat… and of course the taste! Since returning from MasterChef Josh has continued to share his passion for all things Prairie by participating in many features highlighting restaurants and producers within our province. He offers intimate, private catering events that bring his passion for food right into your own home!!

Gayla Gilbertson, The Happy Nun Cafe, brings “Grandma’s Cooking with a twist” to the table. From cooking with her Grandmother and helping on the family farm as a child she appreciates that food if not just about flavour….it’s also about the memories it creates and the experience it provides! 4 years in to ownership of The Happy Nun Cafe in Forget, Sk she is becoming known for providing elevated comfort food featuring local ingredients and creating a unique dining experience on the Prairies.

Together these two, self-taught, food passionate chefs are Food Soulmates taking simple Saskatchewan foods and flavours and taking them up a level!
