Ice Cream Heaven

Mar 11, 2023/Eat & Drink, Summer

One scoop or two? Waffle cone or dish? Stick with your usual Vanilla or go wild with Nutty Hot Fudge Parfait? These are the important questions that must be asked and will be answered (with a minimum of brain-freeze). Thankfully, ice cream is an all-year-round experience in Regina.

Scoops around Regina

  • 1. Milky Way
Standing in line at the shack that’s icon of ice cream has been local tradition for 65 years. It should really be marked on calendars. These cool characters whip up slurp-worthy milkshakes, super smoothies, soft serve with a twist, and precarious towers of hard ice cream in a cone. Make every day a sundae – or a cotton candy hard ice cream with blue raspberry cone dip day.

  • 2. Dessart Sweets Ice Cream & Candy Store
Chill in the heart of Cathedral with Dessart’s famous soft serve, milk shakes, slush puppies, and awesome retro candy selection. Irresistible treats for kids of all ages.

  • 3. Dandy’s Artisan Ice Cream
Dandy’s promises true artisan, handcrafted premium ice cream at its finest, and – wow – do they deliver. Sample a flight of fantastic flavours like London Fog and Toasted Coconut, or discover a recently created seasonal special. Pick up a pint of your favourite Strawberry Honeycomb to enjoy later, or grab a milkshake for the cherry on top of a sensational experience.

  • 4. Elle’s Cafe
Pick up a treat from the ice cream shack and join the delighted customers often seen Instagramming spectacular creations in front of the colourful murals of Elle’s Cafe. Just hurry up and share the good times before your treat melts. The dairy-free soft serve Dole Whip is not only delicious, it’s suitable for vegans – and a best-seller.

  • 5. Bar Willow Eatery
These sundaes are Regina’s best kept secret. While walking Wascana Lake, step up to the Lake Taco takeout window at Bar Willow and treat yourself to a sundae special. Past flavours have included Kit Kat sundaes with chocolate and whipped cream, and Oreo sundaes. We can’t tell you what flavour you will get to try – but we can tell you it’s best tasted in fresh air with a stunning view. Sorted.

In the spirit of reconciliation

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is Treaty 4 territory and the traditional territory of the Anihšinābēk, Nêhiyawak, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakota peoples, and the original home of the Métis/Michif Nation. We recognize that both Indigenous and Métis people are the spiritual and cultural keepers of their traditional lands and still to this day, continue to practice their values, languages, beliefs and knowledge.
