Tourism Saskatchewan – Event Hosting Strategy
The Saskatchewan Event Hosting Strategy is a framework for working with communities, event organizers and key stakeholders to continue to expand the province’s profile, build on momentum and success, and grow tourism.
Grant applications have been divided into four funding streams with application deadlines: March 31 and September 30 of each year.
- Community Annual Events
- Marquee Annual Events
- National and International Events
- Special Tourism Projects
City of Regina – Hosting Grant
Application for hosting grant accepted up to 1 year before the date of the event. Funding up to $10,000 for sanctioned amateur championship events at the provincial, Western Canadian, national or international level being held in Regina.
Regina Hotel Association (RHA) – Sponsorship
Every year, the RHA sponsors over 50 events and conventions that are hosted in the city of Regina. To be eligible, the applicant will generate (or have the potential to generate) new hotel room night stays at an RHA member hotel(s). Applications are considered for event or convention start-up, growth or acquisition (i.e.: hosting a national/international conference).
Sask Sport – Hosting Grants
Sask Sport Inc. administers funding through the Sport Section of the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund. These funds are made possible from the sale of lottery tickets in Saskatchewan. Hosting grants support regional, national, and international amateur sport events hosted in Saskatchewan that build capacity in the sport system (excellence, infrastructure, human resources, participation), maximize economic & community benefits, and promote Saskatchewan culture and values. Provincial Sport Governing Bodies must apply on behalf of the hosting community or organization.
