Although there is more snow in the forecast before warmer weather arrives, don’t let that ruin your date night plans! We may not be able to enjoy picnics in Wascana Park yet but there are plenty of fun date night ideas around Regina.
The Grid VR Arcade – I had never tried virtual reality games before but decided to check this one out with a few experts: my boyfriend and his 3 teen boys. Basically, you rent a room for a block of time and each room has large screen TV’s, a virtual reality headset and comfortable seating for your group. As each player takes a turn playing a virtual reality game, you can see what he or she is seeing on the TVs. Not to toot my own horn but I may have a new skill to add to my resume: Master Fruit Ninja!
Boards n Beans Cafe – Have a relaxing night out in this café drinking coffee, enjoying a few baked goodies and playing board games with your sweetheart. For a small fee, you can stay and play for as long as you’d like.
Stone Hall Castle Tour – I may not be a princess but my man treats me like one so a tour of Stone Hall Castle was a great choice for one of our first date nights together. I had heard of the castle and seen pictures online but you really have to see it in person to see how amazing it is. There are plenty of interesting facts shared throughout the tour as well so you really get a feel for what it was like to live in Medieval times.
The Broken Rack – Place a friendly bet and challenge your sweetheart to a game of pool. You can enjoy a variety of foods and drinks with the laughs and friendly competition.
The Laugh Shop – Did you know that Regina has a live stand-up comedy club? They host a variety of comedians touring around the world so you’re able to see a different show every weekend.
Escape Club – For some reason when I heard “escape room” I thought it was something scary like being in a horror movie. Thankfully, it’s nothing like that. Phew! My boyfriend and I did an escape room with his 3 teen boys and, just as I suspected, the boys were better at it than I was. We each solved a few puzzles on our own to try to escape the room within the hour but sadly we failed. Now that we have a better idea of what to expect though, we’re ready to give it a second chance!
Schoolhaus Culinary Arts – I don’t know about you but when I picture the perfect date night, there is always delicious food involved. Why not try something a little different on your next date night and take a cooking class with your sweetheart? There are a variety of different themed classes to choose from so you’re sure to find a cuisine you’re both interested in learning more about.
Paint Nite – These classes are really popular and I can understand why! For the crafty crowd, you can make a beautiful new masterpiece to display in your home. For the not-so-crafty (like myself), you can share a few laughs at your best attempts at a masterpiece. Either way, you’ll leave with some great memories and a memento from your evening together.
Bodega Tapas Bar – Mix up your traditional dinner plans with a variety of international appetizers. We like to order a large variety here and share them family-style so we all get to try different dishes.
4 Cats Arts Studio – From paintings to clay housewares, you can try a variety of classes here to make gifts for each other. His & Her coffee mugs, perhaps?
