The holiday season is filled with to-do lists, shopping, baking, travel and more so it’s nice when you have some quiet time to enjoy holiday activities together as a family. Here is a list of 10 free (or almost free!) holiday activity ideas for families in Regina.

  • Christmas Light Tours - Our favourite holiday activity is driving around the city to see all the beautiful Christmas light displays. Visit here for a map of the best places to visit! One area I’d highly recommend is Candy Cane Lane in north Regina (close by the Galaxy theatre). The entire neighbourhood really gets into the Christmas spirit there with amazing Christmas lights and holiday inflatable displays. Don’t miss Candy Cane Lane North Pole Village at 19 Champ Crescent - you can get out of your vehicle here to walk around their displays in both the front and back yard PLUS they take donations for the food bank!

  • Visiting Santa - You’ll find Santa Claus at Northgate Mall, Southland Mall and Cornwall Centre ready to share Christmas cheer. Even if you don’t want to spend the money on a photo, your kids are welcome to visit with Santa free of charge. Check each mall’s website for Santa’s visiting hours.
