The best part about warmer weather and the approaching summer is getting outdoors and enjoying all the city has to offer. But what about on those rainy days - what all is there to do in YQR? Here are seven indoor locations to take a date on a rainy day or evening. Talk nerdy to me The Saskatchewan Science Centre is cool to visit at any age - especially since their programming and exhibits are always changing. But for something tailored specifically to adults (19+), check out the evening adult science nights once a month that are a perfect place to take your date. Bringing in special guests like IMP Labs from the U of R to teach you how to DJ and performances by cover rock band Ooh La La, the program changes every month. Plus, they have a licensed bar. Break out of the Asylum The latest trend in indoor entertainment is escape rooms. Participants are locked inside a room and only allowed to leave if they solve a brain-teasing puzzle in a set amount of time. Regina now has several escape room companies like Escape Manor, Key Quest and Escape Club that each offer two or three themed rooms to choose from. It’s a unique way to cooperate, collaborate and learn more about your partner. Get some air A trampoline park is the perfect adventure option for an active date without having to go outside. At Regina’s trampoline parks – Get Air Regina and Boomers Air Park - the entire floor is made up of giant trampolines with foam pits you can flip into and basketball nets you can slam-dunk on every time. #TasteYQR People in Saskatchewan love to eat out. But with so many fantastic restaurant options in Regina, it’s often hard to decide where to eat. Turn what would be a standard night out at one location into a self-designed “food crawl.” Plan each course at a different restaurant stopping somewhere new for appetizers, the main course, dessert and drinks. Escape reality Book a room, don some virtual reality headsets and escape into a three-dimensional world that is surprisingly realistic. Bringing a modern perspective to traditional arcades, The Grid VR Arcade specializes in video games by using the science of virtual reality. Although only one of you can play at a time, your date can watch on a screen in the room while you dodge monsters and zombies. Hit the mark An intense activity but safe and easy to master for any skill level, plan a date night to compete against your SO for the bull’s-eye in axe throwing. Newly opened Lumberjax offers a unique perspective on a date night activity. Although booking in advance is recommended for groups of six or more, there are walk-in nights you can show up to and chuck axe. Visit a castle A house originally built in the early 1920’s by Francis Darke has been transformed into a modern-day 10,000 square foot medieval castle right here in Regina. Stone Hall Castle offers interactive tours throughout the weekend or you can plan a special tour just for you and your significant other. The best part is it’s not a museum so you can actually touch the antiques and sit in the chairs. Tours are $25 a person and there’s even an opportunity to stay the night if you really wanted to splurge.
