Planning a fun girls' weekend in Regina is incredibly easy to do with the city’s wide variety of restaurants, spas, boutique shopping, entertainment and more! Time To Relax My girls’ getaways always start with some time to unwind and relax and there’s no better place to do this than at the spa. Get your feet ready for all that walking and shopping with a relaxing pedicure at Essence Organic Hair & Day Spa in the Hotel Saskatchewan Radisson Plaza. I’ve been going there for years and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. Then set an appointment at the Sara Lindsay Makeup Studio, and get your makeup done by a professional makeup artist who has training from some of London’s top fashion academies. Looking for tips you can take home? Sara also offers personalized makeup lessons. When I need my makeup done for professional photos, Sara is who I trust! Shop ‘til You Drop You can head downtown for some shopping in the Cornwall Centre and treat yourself to goodies in Sephora, lululemon athletica, Hillberg & Berk and more, then head down Scarth Street for some special boutique shopping experiences. While in the mall, you’re sure to work up an appetite while carrying all those shopping bags. Be sure to stop by Cookies by George for a yummy cookie ... or two! I was addicted to them when I was pregnant. Delicious Food in a Relaxed Atmosphere One thing is for sure, there is no shortage of delicious restaurants and pubs in Regina. It’s hard to choose just a few to mention because there are so many great choices. If you’re looking to grab a quick lunch, the sandwiches at the Italian Star Deli are amazing! For delicious burgers, fries or a loaded grilled cheese sandwich, visit Victoria’s Tavern on Hamilton Street. For a large selection of beer, amazing food and excellent customer service, visit Bushwakker Brewpub. I dare you to finish the large serving of nachos there. It’s easy to see why they’re always winning so many awards for their food, drinks, and service! Before I had kids, I’m pretty sure I was there every Friday night for an entire year. What can I say—I love nachos and their Venetian pizza! Visit The Lobby Public House on Broad Street for tasty appetizers, comfort foods, drinks and more. This is where we went for our latest date night. The Bacon Cheddar Burger and Primavera Pizza were both so good! Sit out on the deck, have a drink and observe Regina’s downtown from The Roof Top Bar & Grill or Crave Kitchen + Wine Bar. See what I mean? I could go on forever about the delicious options around Regina! Entertainment After relaxing at the spa, shopping all day and filling your belly with food, you may be tempted to lie in your hotel room all night, but then you’d be missing out on Regina’s nightlife! You could test your luck over at Casino Regina or check out a performance in their show lounge (look into booking your tickets in advance). There are several live music events each year in Regina - see a schedule of upcoming shows here. Irresistible Desserts There’s no better way to end your day than with a sweet treat like cheesecake, cupcakes, pie, tarts ... I’m drooling just thinking about the tasty treats! You’ll love the selection at le Macaron Decadent Desserts & Cafe. It may be tough to choose just one so you may need a little dessert buffet to share with friends! Relax in La Bodega with a drool-worthy chocolate fondue for two or caramel banana crepes with coconut ice cream. Yum! If you’re looking to bring sweets back to your hotel room to indulge in while catching up on the latest in reality television, make a daytime stop by Dessart Sweets or Chocolates by Bernard Callebaut - both located in Cathedral Village.
